GrafTech International Holdings, Inc. is a global company with over 100 years of experience in the carbon and graphite industry. We manufacture and provide high-quality natural and synthetic graphite and carbon products and services. Our Columbia, Tennessee production facility has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer. The primary function of this position is to insure the production of high quality products that meet customer needs and troubleshoot process performance problems.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provides technical expertise related to process/product control and improvement.
- Leads discussions related to processes and trials inquiries.
- Produces monthly summaries for product quality and yields for Key Performance Indicator Reports.
- Prepares and presents periodic reports on product quality to management and other audiences.
- Serves as the product and process technology expert and leads efforts in problem solving and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering required.
- Minimum five years experience in Process Engineering/Quality Control/Quality Assurance in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Process Engineering/QC/QA experience in multiple process areas.
- Moderate knowledge of Theory of Constraints/Demand Pull Manufacturing techniques.
- Knowledge in Statistical Process Control.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Certification as CQE, CQA, or CQM is recommended to enhance knowledge base and exposure related to quality systems.
- Technical writing (with respect to Quality Management System documentation, customer certifications, trial reports, etc.)
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience and/or certifications a plus.
